About our Kiwanis club

Rock Springs Kiwanis Club Signature Project – Shop with a Cop 2023

Kiwanis helps kids around the world. Our Kiwanis club looks out for our community and the Kiwanis international organization takes on large-scale challenges, such as fighting disease and poverty. Our Kiwanis club is generous with its time. We are creative with our ideas. We are passionate about making a difference. And we have fun along the way!

For more than a century, Kiwanis has created opportunities for children to be curious, safe and healthy regardless of the community in which they live. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed and thrive, great things can happen.

The Kiwanis Mission & Vision

Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children. Kiwanis strives to be a positive influence in communities worldwide — so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive. Our Kiwanis club fulfills the Kiwanis mission by serving our community through projects like Shop with a Cop, supporting our local Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts, Wyoming Raising Readers and many more.

Kiwanis Club of Rock Springs’ Service

This club was established over 72 years ago in November 1949 and is still active.  We have a membership of 36+ members and are always encouraging new members to join.

We support the following groups through local fundraising events at International Day, Rods & Rails and other grilling opportunities.  We also raise funds through See’s Candy sales in November and December.  The Club uses the Grill to give back to the community or as a fundraising opportunity.

  • Shop with a Cop
  • Boys and Girls Club
  • Big Brothers Big Sister Bowl of Sharing
  • United Way’s Dolly Parton Reading program
  • Raising Readers
  • WWCC Ralph Craft Scholarship
  • JD Juvenile Diabetes
  • Boy Scouts
  • Little League  –  Kiwanis Park
  • Kickin’ with Kiwanis
  • Special Events (requested)

We meet every Wednesday (unless it is a holiday) at McDonald’s on Sunset Dr. at 7 a.m. to listen to different speakers from around our County.  Once per quarter or so, one of our club members hosts a Social on a Sunday evening.

We are very proud of the different and diverse ways that we help different organizations that impact the lives of children in Sweetwater County.  Each of our members are involved in our community in all different ways by volunteering their time, talent, and treasures.
